The Ga–Dangme community has celebrated the historic inauguration of the Ga Seventh-day Adventist Church and the School for Pastors. This milestone, spearheaded by the Ga–Dangme Rural Evangelism Mission, reflects a dedicated effort to equip pastors with the linguistic and cultural skills needed for effective ministry in Ga-speaking communities.
A highlight of the event was the acceptance of 56 individuals as church members after a formal voting process. In addition, new church officers were elected and ordained, while around 30 members from other Seventh-day Adventist churches pledged their support to the new Ga church.
Elder Reuben Tetteh emphasized the critical role of the School for Pastors in empowering ministers to communicate the gospel effectively in the Gadangbi region. This initiative aligns with the mission’s vision of fostering a vibrant church that conducts services in the indigenous Ga language, ensuring cultural relevance and deeper community engagement.
Pastor S.O.T. Hammond, president of the Accra City Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, delivered a message of perseverance, love, unity, and resilience. He encouraged the congregation to hold onto hope and emphasized the importance of responsible public communication as ambassadors of Christ.
The event was marked by special prayers for the dedication of church items, as well as uplifting musical performances by the Ga Church Youth Choir and the King’s Ambassadors, adding a joyful and spiritual atmosphere to the occasion.
This inaugural event signifies a major step forward in advancing the gospel in the Ga–Dangme region and underscores the power of unity and cultural connection in evangelism.
